NFP: First piece of plant equipment in place

Nakhodka Fertilizer Plant commenced installation of main plant equipment: the first piece of equipment to be placed onto its rightful foundation is the raw methanol stabilization column.

The 44-meter column isn’t the largest of the four, the biggest one reaching 72 meters in height. Special cranes with total lifting capacity amounting to 2500 tons were brought to the construction site to assist in installation of such equipment.

‘This is a milestone event for us, another successfully completed step on the way to launch. It is especially important that we are on track with the designated deadlines; we plan to put several more units of the plant’s oversized equipment on their respective foundations by the end of the year. After the launch, the methanol synthesis unit will produce 5.4 thousand tonnes of methanol per day. At this rate, NFP will be among the top five leaders among similar plants in Russia,’ says Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP.

The plant is one of the three largest investment projects in the Far East and one of the top 10 in Russia. Thanks to the construction of the plant, the Primorye economy will receive 227 billion in investments by 2028, of which almost 50 billion have already been invested.
