NFP made Nakhodka one of the top invested-in cities in the region
In 2024 Nakhodka received 47.7 billion rubles of fixed capital investment for its economic and social development, which makes the city second after Vladivostok in terms of the investment volume. This was made possible due to the construction of the Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant (NFP).
The volume of private investments into NFP amounts to 227 billion rubles, a third of which is already invested in the Project. The contribution of the enterprise into Nakhodka’s economy makes it possible to increase expenses for the development of the third largest city in Primorye.
“Fixed capital investments are a powerful driver of the city economic development. Construction of such modern and cut-edge enterprise as NFP has a multiplicative effect as it give boost not just to the industrial potential of the city, but also to solving significant infrastructural and social issues, as well as the issues of people employment and engagement of small and medium businesses in some of the aspects of the Project implementation,” says Timur Maginsky, the Head of the Nakhodka urban district.
NFP is a large-scale construction project that unites more than 160 companies, 80% of which are local businesses. In 2024 the total volume of subcontracts exceeded 10 billion rubles, which translates into stable jobs for 8,000 employees.
“The local presence of such a large production facility is also a significant tax contribution into the budget. Since NFP is a resident of the Territory of Advanced Social and Economic Development (TOR), it will pay 25 billion rubles during the tax holiday and 13.5 billion rubles annually after 2036. NFP construction will also allow for the gasification of Nakhodka. We will become the major gas consumer, i.e. more than 3 billion cubic meters per year, which will solve the issue of return of investment for the pipeline construction. We plan to connect the transit gas pipeline with NFP utilities within this year,” says Viktor Grebenyukov, the Executive Director of NFP.
The plant will reach its design capacity in 2027. Once the production is started, NFP will become an industrial giant, making top five of methanol production facilities in the country. The plant will also give stable and well-paid jobs to more than 1,500 people.
