NFP finishes concreting of the hydraulic facilities of the Marine Terminal

The Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant (NFP) has finished concreting of the approach trestle and the process platform of the Marine Terminal (MT). The total volume of concrete poured exceeds 7,500 m3. Furthermore, 6 pieces of the MT equipment are already delivered to the construction site, another batch of equipment and steel structures is expected in the foreseeable future.

“In just a couple of months we’ve managed to finish concreting of the hydraulic facilities of the terminal. Almost 80% of the total volume is done. We are now getting ahead of the schedule, and our construction team is getting ready for the concreting of mooring and breasting dolphins. Once the MT starts its operation, its capacity will reach 1,400 tons of methanol per hour. The facility will comply with all the requirements of environmental safety, since we will use a closed and sealed product handling system, which will help us avoid any risks associated with methanol leaks,” says Viktor Grebenyukov, the Executive Director of NFP.

The main purpose of the Marine Terminal is to load the finished product onto the vessels. It will be equipped with a telescopic gangway and a laser mooring system, which will allow mooring of larger vessels of up to 195 meters, with the capacity of up to 53,000 tons and the draft of up to 13 meters. The product methanol will be transferred from the tanks directly to the vessel via a pipeline. The forecasted cargo turnover shall reach 1.8 million tons of finished product per year.

Once NFP starts its operation, it will make top five methanol production facilities in the country and reach its full design capacity in 2027.
