8 pieces of equipment installed at NFP site

A new methanol concentration column was recently installed at Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant. This is the eighth piece of equipment mounted on its foundation within but a month. Four columns arrived at the port of Nakhodka at the end of September. The first one, a 34-metre raw methanol stabilization column, was placed on its foundation two weeks after delivery.

The heaviest column weighs 490 tonnes, with the tallest reaching 72 metres. Special cranes were delivered to the plant construction site to install the columns. All four columns have now been installed on their respective foundations, as well as the three main methanol synthesis units and circulating gas separator.

‘We have picked up a good pace of construction, installing at least one piece of equipment every week. All works are on schedule, and to a large extent this has been possible thanks to the co-ordinated work of contractors from Primorye and Nakhodka, who employ local residents,’ says Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP.

At the construction site, site preparation works are nearing completion and aboveground civil works see dynamic development: foundation pouring, rebar cage manufacturing and equipment installation.

6 thousand people are working on the project. The enterprise will reach its planned capacity in 2027. NFP will be among the top five leaders in the country in terms of production quantities: the plant will synthesize 1.8 million tons of methanol from natural gas per year.
