NFP building an environmentally friendly marine terminal
Nakhodka Fertilizer Plant has completed concreting all eight sections of the terminal’s approach trestle and commenced pouring the process platform.
The facility meets all environmental safety requirements and is intended for the shipment of finished products.
“A closed and completely sealed transportation system will help avoid the risk of methanol entering the outside environment. Production methanol will be transported from the tanks via a pipeline directly to a marine vessel and then shipped to consumers,” said Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP.
The terminal will include a pump station for rainwater and a domestic wastewater station, which completely eliminates pollution of the sea.
The terminal’s capacity will reach 1,400 tons per hour. Its length is 424 meters, and its water area is 38.3 thousand square meters. It will be able to receive up to 105 vessels annually. The terminal will also be equipped with a telescopic gangway and a laser mooring system. This will allow receiving vessels up to 195 meters long and with a capacity of up to 53 thousand tons, with a draft of up to 13 meters. The planned cargo turnover of the terminal is 1.8 million tons of finished products per year.
