NFP Completes Gas Pipeline Construction

Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant (NFP) has completed the gas pipeline branch connecting the main line to the plant’s internal networks and has connected the system to the gas distribution station.

“Construction, installation, and commissioning work on the pipeline section leading to the NFP construction site are now fully complete. We have conducted the necessary pneumatic tests and in-line inspections, and the system is connected to the ‘Vrangel’ gas distribution station. All that remains is to obtain the certificate of conformity with technical regulations and the permit for commissioning. Technically, NFP is ready for system startup,” noted Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP.

Natural gas is the primary raw material for methanol production. NFP will become its main consumer in Nakhodka, processing over 3 billion cubic meters annually. A 20-year contract has been signed with Gazprom for gas supplies from Sakhalin.

Pipeline laying and the installation of the valve unit have also been completed on the plant’s internal networks. All required testing and diagnostics have been performed. Final work on infrastructure development — including water supply, communication lines, and pump station installation — is currently underway. NFP plans to complete the construction of the entire plant this year and reach design capacity in the first half of 2027.

The construction of the pipeline for NFP will eventually allow for the phased gasification of Nakhodka. Currently, residential buildings and social institutions in the city are heated by coal and fuel oil boiler plants. Switching these facilities to “blue fuel” will significantly improve the environment by reducing harmful emissions to zero.
