NFP uses local materials to construct its foundation

More than 40,000 cubic meters of concrete have already been poured at the site of the future Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant (NFP). All the materials used to reinforce the soil, pour the foundation and build various additional structures are produced in Nakhodka.

Participation of local companies in the construction of the plant is an important contribution of NFP to the increasing economic growth of the town. Fifty-one companies from Nakhodka are involved in the large-scale construction today.

“Such a technically intricate and ambitious project requires the use of high-quality materials. Concrete from local manufacturers meets our requirements. The concrete mixture is tested by a special laboratory immediately before pouring, and after it becomes hard and gains strength it passes a series of additional tests. Cooperation with local suppliers will be long-term: now we have poured a third part of the design volume,” said Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP.

The site has been carefully prepared for placing the plant in a seismic zone. The “cushion” on which the plant will be located is reinforced with 904 bored piles up to 30 meters long. Massive and heterogeneous foundations across the entire site are capable of bearing up to 400 t of equipment.

It should be reminded that by 2028 the NFP construction project will have invested RUB 227 bln into the Primorye economy (of which almost RUB 50 bln have already been invested). NFP is one of the ten largest investment projects in Russia and one of the top three in the Far East.
