Yury Trutnev: an important enterprise will be built in Primorye
During his business trip to Primorsky Krai, Yury Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia and Presidential Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District, paid a visit to the construction site of the Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant (NFP).
“The construction of the plant is underway. The owners of the plant see no issues that cannot be surmounted. It will be a large plant. After the start-up, it will become one of the biggest manufacturers of fertilizers in our country. The launch of NFP will increase the amount of taxes received by Primorsky Krai and the whole Russian Federation. It will be yet another giant, another plant of great importance”, says Yury Trutnev.
“The Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant will become a primary driver of the development of the chemical industry in our country. It will push forward the development of science and technology in the region as it will bring together a team of highly qualified specialists and provide them with an opportunity to continue their education. The enterprise will also have a significant bench strength. Today NFP invests in building chemical, technology, physics and mathematics labs in schools of Vrangel. The enterprise is also implementing social projects”, says Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of Primorsky Krai.
NFP is one of the top three investment projects of the Far East and once it starts operating, it will become one of the top five methanol manufacturers in Russia, producing 1.8 million tons of product per year. The annual consumption rate of natural gas for Phase 1 will reach 1.7 billion m3. The private investments are worth 227 billion rubles. The full operation capacity will be reached by 2027.
“By the time we launch Phase 1 and Phase 2, we will have 1500 jobs created. Our hiring priority will be given to specialists from Nakhodka and Primorye. Currently we are finishing site leveling works and performing works for the upper structure, pouring concrete for foundations, building rebar cages and installing process equipment. Eight pieces of equipment had already been installed, the ninth piece of equipment, a 44.9m and 211t saturator, was installed today”, says Nikolay Sabitov, General Director of NFP.
By the middle of 2036, the Plant will pay 25 billion rubles in taxes. Besides, the enterprise has initiated and funded first the development of a comprehensive development plant for Nakhodka, and then the development of the masterplan, which helped to attract 30 million rubles of additional funding allocated from the federal budget. 48 initiatives for social and economic development of the region are already implemented, while 18 are underway. These include refurbishment and upgrade of schools, kindergartens and libraries, building of recreational areas, new healthcare and sports centers, and construction of public roads and utilities.
