Khimik from the Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant came second in the mini-football championship of local corporates. This year the competition attracted a record-breaking number of participants: 12 teams rivalled for the Cup.

NFP continuously cheers up the sports spirit in its employees and supports sports initiatives in the town. The Company rents a football court and pays for the sports gear and equipment.

Khimik won matches, which were a real struggle, at the group stage and conceded the final to its neighbors from Vostochny Port — 2:1.

“Last year we took part in the mini-football championship of corporates for the first time. We were newbies and could not sense the field and the ball. But we did a huge deal of an exercise and played in the second division the whole season, which gave us some confidence and added up some skill. We also got a grip of an excellent goal-keeper and that, eventually, ended up with our today’s silver medal,” — said Yuri Vykhodtsev, team captain and head of HSE unit, NFP.

The plan for the near future is to participate in the second division of the Nakhodka championship and the mini-football championship of the fuel and energy companies in Primorsky Krai. Let us remind you that NFP’s Khimik became one of the top 5 mini-football teams in the championship last year.
