Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant’s main power source, a 220 kV substation, has been connected to power. Rosseti laid nearly 90 kilometers of power lines connecting the NFP energy supply center with the Lozovaya and Nakhodka substations.

The NFP substation is the most powerful in the surrounding area. It is equipped with two domestically produced 220/10 kV transformers, each rated at 63 MVA. The facility will supply power to 11 substations located throughout the plant. Individual testing of the electrical equipment and utility systems has now been completed, energization of which is divided into several stages.

“The substation will ensure the plant’s reliable power supply at the highest level. The scale is also colossal: over two thousand pieces of electrical equipment have been installed at the facility, and over sixty kilometers of electrical cables have been laid. We will soon transition from construction and installation work to commissioning,” says Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP.

During the commissioning phase, the operability of all production systems will be tested and trial production will be conducted. By early 2027, NFP will reach its design capacity and start synthesizing 1.8 million tons of methanol per year, placing the plant among the top five in the country in terms of production scope.

The launch of the plant in Primorye will also accelerate the development of the energy sector: six power facilities have been modernized to provide the plant with a power source. This will increase overall electricity generation and minimize the current energy shortage in the region.
