58 Cedar Trees Planted in the “Garden of Remembrance” in the Partizansky District
The “Garden of Remembrance” was created in Vladimiro-Aleksandrovskoye next to the monument to the partisans who died for the liberation of Soviet Primorye. Deputy Minister of Forestry of Primorye, Anatoly Nepochatykh, specialists and volunteers from the Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant (NFP), as well as students from the “Novye Lesovody” school forestry in the village of Novitskoye, planted 58 young cedars.
The long-term federal initiative “Garden of Remembrance” aims to plant 27 million trees in memory of each person who died during the Great Patriotic War. Such an initiative took place for the first time in the Partizansky Municipal District.
The seedlings for the “Garden of Remembrance” in Vladimiro-Aleksandrovskoye were grown in the plant nursery in Chistovodnoye. They are adapted to the weather conditions of the Partizansky District, and specialists promise their high survival rate.
“It is great to see people of different ages here today, including schoolchildren from ‘Novye Lesovody.’ Your responsibility is to take care of the planted cedars, to make sure that they do not wither, to ensure that no one damages them,” noted Anatoly Nepochatykh.
The planting of the “Garden of Remembrance” is not the first joint “green” initiative for the NFP and the Ministry of Forestry of Primorskiy Krai. In 2021, NFP acquired equipment for the Primorsky Aviation, Ground, and Forest Protection Base to effectively combat forest fires. Last year, at the request of the ministry, NFP began construction of a tree nursery in Partizansk, where it is planned to cultivate seedlings for planting throughout the southern Primorkiy Krai.
“In two weeks, we plan to complete the sowing in the first greenhouse, and in the future, the seedlings will be planted both in Nakhodka and in the Partizansky District,” emphasized Viktor Grebenyukov, the executive director of NFP.
The development of the education sector is the key area of NFP’s social policy. The construction of the tree nursery is the first stage of a large-scale project for reforestation and greening of the region. The seedlings grown here will be able to meet the needs of compensatory reforestation in the south of Primorskiy Region.
The international initiative “Garden of Remembrance” was first held in 2020. .
