NFP is getting ready for installation of equipment
The construction site of the Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant is getting ready to enter a new stage — installation of a methanol synthesis unit. Two lifting cranes were manufactured specifically to install the out-of-gauge equipment.
One of them is unique. It is a self-propelled crane with a capacity of 1,700 t. The second one has three types of booms for various activities, ranging from 24 to 114 m long. It can lift up to 800 t, do self-tests and fine-tune its operation.
“The cranes were made to satisfy the special design of our methanol unit. They were tested and certified respectively. Since they are 170 m high, they will be delivered knocked-down to the site. Once we assemble the cranes, we will start installing the equipment,” said Mr Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP.
Right now, the construction mainly focuses on foundations of the main methanol synthesis unit, main substation and the water treatment station. Local subcontractors deliver all concrete.
May we remind you, that NFP is one of the top three largest investment projects in the Far East and is one of the top 10 projects in Russia. The designed production capacity of the plant is 1.8 mln tonnes of methanol per annum.
