NFP Subbotnik unites more than one hundred citizens of Nakhodka

In anticipation of the summer season the Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant (NFP) has once again arranged a now traditional clean-up initiative at the Koroviy Beach, the Subbotnik. This large-scale environmental initiative has become a part of the all-Russian ‘Waters of Russia’ Environmental Project, which this year celebrates its 10th anniversary.

“Twice a year we go out to clean the local beach. All of the employees support the “subbotnik” initiative. And with each year more and more active representatives of the local community join us in our environmental endeavor even though we do not publicly promote the initiative. This time we saw that the benches we put 3 years ago were almost completely covered with sand. That is why we immediately decided to start with them to make sure that everyone can seat comfortably by the sea,” says Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP.

In 2021 at the initiative of the enterprise the beach was equipped with benches, special areas for people to play volleyball and football, a playground for children, dressing rooms and garbage bins. That is why for NFP the Koroviy Beach is a place of significance.

“This is the third year in a row when I participate in this clean-up initiative. NFP pays great attention to the improvement of the territory and development of the beach area. Now with the NFP participation in the elaboration of the Nakhodka Master Plan the beach is also included in the development program. In a very near future the beach will turn into an even more modern and comfortable recreational area for citizens”, says Timur Maginsky, Head of the Nakhodka Urban District.

More than one hundred citizens joined the Subbotnik: students, athletes, representatives of the city administration and the Duma, the Russian Union of Youth and representatives of the Movement of the First.

“I would like to acknowledge NFP’s participation in preserving the environment of the Primorsky Krai. The enterprise arranges and joins various environmental initiatives such as “Waters of Russia” on an annual basis. Besides, NFP participates in increasing fish population activities,” emphasizes Evgeniya Moiseenko, Deputy Minister for Forestry, Environmental and Animal Protection and Resources Preservation in Primorsky Krai.

As always, the finale of the clean-up day was hot tea and mouth-watering pilaf. The result of the joint efforts was two trucksful of waste, cut down dead trees and restored facilities.
