NFP – the driver of Nakhodka’s economic development
Timur Maginsky, Head of the Nakhodka urban district, has visited NFP construction site and talked to the employees of the Plant. The meeting was held under the auspices of the career guidance campaign run by the City Administration to reduce labour and skills shortage in Nakhodka.
The choice of the NFP site was no coincidence. The Plant will become the biggest employer in Nakhodka, hiring more than 1,500 people.
Today NFP employs 288 people, the vast majority of whom are locals. For two years the company has been implementing a large-scale recruitment campaign in Nakhodka. In 2024 it built the first team of operators of the chemical plant by hiring 25 people. This year NFP will hire more operators of the chemical plant, maintenance and repair men, operators of compressor and pumping stations, chemistry lab technicians and instrumentation fitters. The plan is to hire about 100 people. The priority to hire local specialists still remains.
“Nakhodka has become the city of federal subject significance. We have made top twenty Russian cities with a confirmed and successfully implemented master plan. This became possible thanks to the construction of NFP. This industrial giant will give jobs to locals, increase city and regional budgets and ultimately facilitate the overall development of the city. It will help us minimize brain drain and bring more highly skilled workers to Nakhodka. As for the city authorities, our task is to make peoples’ life in the city comfortable,” says Timur Maginsky, Head of the Nakhodka urban district.
Today the site sees the rapid construction of foundations; more than forty pieces of equipment are already installed in the midst of ongoing installation of steel structures. At the Marine Terminal the construction team is concreting the approach trestle. One fourth of the total scope of concreting works is completed.
“Last year we built infrastructure facilities of the plant. This year’s plan is much more ambitious, i.e. we are going to connect the laid gas pipeline with plant’s systems., continue equipment installation, construction of the Marine Terminal, desalination station and power substation. Despite the fact that only two hundred people are now working directly for the company, more than eight thousand people are involved in the implementation of the project,” says Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP.
NFP is collaborating with local companies on materials supply, construction works and services. In 2024 the total value of subcontracts exceeded 10 billion roubles. NFP’s partnership with local businesses is an investment in the economy of the region and a means to prevent brain drain. Today the implementation of the project is a joint effort of more than 160 companies, 80% of which are from either Nakhodka or other cities in Primorye.
