NFP completes construction of electrical substation

Construction and installation of the main power supply facility – 220 kV substation- have been finished at the construction site of the Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant, the future industrial giant. Right now, site improvement and fit-out of premises is underway alongside the commissioning works.

The substation comprises two Russian-made 220/10 kV transformers, 63 MVA each. More than sixty kilometers of electrical, connecting and instrumentation cables have been laid. This is more than the distance from Nakhodka to Partizansk. More than two thousand pieces of electrical devices and equipment have been installed. The substation territory accommodates two switchgear buildings for 220 kV and 10 kV and a 10/0.4 kV auxiliary transformer substation.

“This year we are going to complete construction of the plant and are now finalizing and commissioning certain facilities. It was the gas pipeline in February, and now we have completed the substation. It will ensure reliable power supply of the highest category to NFP. We are rapidly approaching the main event – start-up of the plant. This lets us complete construction and installation in stages and on schedule and quickly proceed to the commissioning”, says Viktor Grebenyukov, the Executive Director of NFP.

The substation will be energized by two sources via 220 kV lines. In order to supply power to the plant, Rosseti have laid almost 90 kilometers of power transmission lines that connect the NFP power supply center with Lozovaya and Nakhodka substations.

NFP start-up will boost the development of the power sector in Primorye: six power facilities will be modernized in order to provide the power supply source for the plant. This will help to increase the total power generation and minimize energy shortage in the region.
