Gasification of Nakhodka is underway

The construction of the Nakhodka Mineral Fertilizer Plant (NFP) gas pipeline, which makes gasification of Nakhodka possible, is finished. The news was reported at the City Development meeting to Oleg Kozhemyako, the governor of the region, by Viktor Grebenyukov, Executive Director of NFP, as follows:

“The pipeline construction is completed; the project readiness is 100% and we are finishing with our part. NFP is the main consumer of gas in Nakhodka with more than a 3 billion m3 gas consumption rate per year. The major financial obligation for the gas pipeline payback and Gazprom expenses will be borne by NFP. We have already signed a 20-year gas supply contract with Gazprom. The investments made by Gazprom will be recovered at the expense of NFP and will not become an additional financial burden for the people. That is why the gasification of the city became possible.”

Six boiler houses are going to switch to natural gas in the upcoming two years. One boiler house is located in Vrangel, while five other boiler houses are located in the largest districts of Nakhodka.

“Gasification of Nakhodka will be gradual. Design and survey works are completed for boiler houses located in both Nakhodka and Vrangel. Now the first step would be to start supplying gas to one boiler house in Vrangel and make sure that during the heating season of 2025-2026 it will already be operating on gas”, says Andrei Leontiev, the Minister of Energy and Gas Supply in Primorsky Krai, at the meeting.

Currently all 43 boiler houses in Nakhodka that supply heat to apartments, private houses and public facilities are operating on coal and heavy fuel oil (mazut).
